I’m Mark McElroy, an everyday guy with a passion for well-planned leisure travel.
How much passion? Over the last two decades, I’ve personally taken or helped people plan more than four hundred trips and vacations to more than forty countries across the globe. Along with Clyde (my husband of twenty-five years), I travel enough to earn Delta Diamond Million Mile status on leisure travel alone.
I’m not a guru. But since family and friends depend on me for advice on how to plan, where to go, and what to do when they get there, I started this site to make it easier for me to send ‘me a link and say, “Here’s some ideas to consider.”
Unlike a lot of travel bloggers, I’m not a shill. My opinions aren’t for sale. I don’t accept free trips, hotel stays, or tickets in exchange for reviews. When I go somewhere or do something, I spend my own money — just like you do. As a result, you can trust what I say isn’t influenced by others in any way.
Until recently, my travel writing has been published at MillionMileMark.com and MadeByMark.com. But for clarity’s sake, I’m moving all travel-related stories to MarkGoesThere.com. (Interested in great food, too? Check out MarkEatsThis.com.)
I know you have a limited number of hours to spend browsing the web for advice and information. I appreciate your interest, and I take very seriously my obligation to share useful insights with you. If you have questions or need a suggestion, don’t hesitate to ask.
